In Vienna was held a working meeting between Alexey Miller and Chief Executive Directors OMV. The sides discussed issues of Russian gas deliveries to Austria. Appreciation was expressed for the activities of Gazprom as a reliable supplier that contributes to the Austrian and European energy security. Today's geopolitical situation defined relevance Russian alternative gas supply routes to European consumers.

During the visit Alexey Miller met with the Federal Minister of Economy of Austria Reinhold Mitterlehner. Parties discuss questions about the status of Russian -Austrian cooperation in the energy sphere. It was noted that the years of mutually beneficial partnership playing a special role in strengthening economic ties between two countries, and that further cooperation in the gas sector shows significant development prospects.

Summarizing the meeting, Miller said that in order to optimize the South Stream project and taking into account the existing portfolio of contracts of Gazprom, under existing intergovernmental agreement, the Russian side agreed with the proposal of the Austrian partners to consider the possibility of construction of gas pipeline in Austria.
