Iran plans to export gas to Europe via the Nabucco pipeline

Iranian authorities have declared their readiness to export gas to Europe via a gas pipeline (IHP) Nabucco.

Deputy Head of the Ministry of Oil of Iran's international relations Ali Majedi officially announced that two European countries have already expressed interest in the supply of Iranian gas. Majedi said that Iran came two delegations from the EU to harmonize the technical conditions for future gas supplies. In which countries will be supplied with gas, the officer has not yet reported.

According Majedi Iranian gas can be transported by different routes, including gas pipelines in Turkey, Iraq, Syria, the Caucasus and the Black Sea. At the same time Turkish IHL Nabucco is considered the best option for gas supply. In addition, the Turkish authorities realize that IHL can be empty without Iranian natural gas, as the Azerbaijani gas to Europe through an alternative supply of IHL TAP-TANAP.

Iran has not yet offered to participate in the project of gas supplies IHL TAP. But, as the Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mohsen Pakayin if Iran offered part, the authorities will consider this proposal. He noted that Europe needs to increase the volume of energy, and may itself accelerate the implementation of projects of alternative gas supplies.
