Russia propose support in recovering oil and solution for preventing spill from damaged well in the Gulf of Mexico

09 June 2010 in EMERCOM of Russian Federation was provided meeting regarding support with response of oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico from BP Deepwater Horizon platform.

In the meeting participated several Russian manufacturers of oil spill equipment: oil boom, skimmers, water filled protecting dams, collapsible ground and floatation tanks, sorbents, dispersants, pump and other.

Russian specialist has great skill with oil spill response and ready for provide equipment and volunteers for help solve problem in Gulf of Mexico with EMERCOM RF support.

In the meeting was presented new conception by NPF Politechnika Ltd., Moscow for collecting, separation and removing oil from any underwater spills. Concept includes large scale flexible hood with diameters 20-50 meters. Flexible hood is installing over point of leakage and supported with special top cord and anchors.

Main distinction from other similar solution its collecting oil from special floated inside dome on the line between oil and gas phase collector. Collected oil pumped by hose on tanker. In this case large volume of hood and collector location excepting gas hydrate formation and providing total covering and removing oil from any kind of underwater spills, including damaged well, pipeline and sunken tankers.
